Created by Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas in 1983, Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that conciously blends nine movement forms to create an hour long experience that is truly … beyond the beyond.

Fierce and feminine, Nia engages pleasure to calm our mind, honor our emotions, adore our bodies, and connect our spirits. For these reasons (and many more) Nia heals. Nia restores health to our entire being.

My love affair with Nia began in 2002 with my first Nia teacher Carolyne Rideg. Within a few of her joyous and dynamic classes … I became obsessed. Though I never imagined I would teach group fitness classes, when I moved to Seattle I saw the need for Nia teachers and I pounced.

I personally love Nia for her ability to be wildly pleasurable and meaningful in the same moment. I have tried many forms of fitness and none of them elicit my spirit and switch me to ON, like Nia.

Today, I consider myself fluent in Nia. I offer classes that deliver a strong and fluid workout. My desire is that you leave class feeling rooted, radiant … and sweaty.
