For most of my life I was quite jaded about any reference to the “divine feminine.” Perhaps it was my righteous midwife friend’s home office adorned with sculptures of enormous vaginal canals. Or maybe it was the “We’ Moon” calendar that beckoned my mind to images of women dancing naked under a solstice moon. Although dancing naked now sounds somewhat appealing, I am a New Yorker and back then none of these images inspired me to know more. I got it conceptually: “the divine feminine” = relationship, mother earth, warmth, creation, compassion … “We’ Moon” calendar.

After some very difficult spins – I now see that I hardly got it at all. The divine feminine essence is a mind-blowingly hip and powerful force. It is alive in every cell of my being and is the soul, the lifeblood, the spirit and the core of what it means to be female. And of course, “it” is a “she.”

Her qualities are much more infinite and dynamic than words convey and I honestly could go on and on about her – but here are some of my favorite aspects: She is pleasure-centered and rests in her desires. She beams with appreciation and adoration. She is soft and sensual. She attracts and receives. She is the source of celebration and peace. She is mysterious and magical. She is confident and flirtatious.

Best yet, she knows exactly what I long for and even better, how to get it. Her guiding presence makes her my very own GPS, and thus I am never lost.

Sound cool? It truly is.
